Chapin had a very tough competitor in AC Flora. It was a fast meet with many hard fought battles to the finish, but in the end Chapin came up short with AC Flora scoring 208 to Chapin’s 131. Catherine Bendziewicz came out on top winning both her races, the 200 IM and 100 Fly. Will Tenbrunsel also scored big, winning the 100 Back.

Our girls relay team with Cathrine Bendziewicz, Emily Gleaton, Denise Shealy and Alexa Ussery claimed first place in the 200 Free Relay with an automatic State qualifying time. Our boy relay team with Will Tenbrunsel, Warren Coppage, Jared Kemmerling and Alec Dixon also earn their first automatic State qualifying time with a second place finish against the AC Flora boys.

Due to unforeseen events beyond the control of the Eagle Board, the Scoreboard project has experienced delays. The project is still moving forward but the new unveiling date will be on September 19th at the Brookland-Cayce game. This week’s Newberry game will go forward with the temporary board. We appreciate everyone’s patience!

Chapin Swimming soared with a double victory against Newberry and Mid Carolina High Schools. The Eagle Claws owned the pool with a 245 to 95 victory over Mid- Carolina and a 239 to 92 victory over Newberry. Team spirit ruled with outstanding swims from Catherine Bendziewicz in the 200 IM and 100 Fly, Denise Shealy in the 200 and 400 Free and Will Tenbrusel in the 50 Free and 100 Back.

Other big winners for Chapin were Warren Coppage in the 200 IM, Emily Gleaton in the 100 Breast, Alexa Ussery in the 50 Free, Rachel Rutkowski in the 100 Back, and Grant Tomlin in the 200 Free.

Lady Eagle relay teams scored big with swimmers Catherine Bendziewicz, Emily Gleaton, Denise Shealy and Alexa Ussery winning both the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay. Cindy Spence, Kaitlyn Spence, Jenna Sullivan and Rachel Rutkowski also earned the top spot with a victory in the 200 Free Relay.

Our Eagle Men also soared claiming 2 out of 3 relay team victories. Will Tenbrusel, Warren Coppage, Chris Gleaton, and Alex Dixon led the way in the 400 Free Relay. David Dunkelberg, Wesley Moore, Jarred Kemmerling and Jack Tenbrusel earned the top spot in the 200 Free Men’s Relay.

The Chapin Eagle Swimmers were led to victory by Coach Peggy Mueller and Coach Dana Catoe. Our next meet is September 10 against AC Flora.
