581 SWIMMERS FROM 19 HIGH SCHOOLS TOOK PART IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP LEVEL MEET AT THE AUGUSTA AQUATIC CENTER ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 23.

THE SWIMMIN’ WOMEN” OF CHAPIN TOOK AN IMPRESSIVE 6TH PLACE FINISH IN TEAM POINTS.

CATHERINE BENDZIEWICZ SMASHED ANOTHER CHAPIN HIGH SCHOOL RECORD IN THE 100 BACK AND FINISHED 2ND IN THE 50 FREE.

EMILY GLEATON,RACHEL RUTKOWSKI,DENISE SHEALY, ALEXA USSERY, WARREN COPPAGE, ALEC DIXON, AND WILL TENBRUNSEL ALL HAD TOP 20 FINISHES IN THEIR INDIVIDUAL EVENTS.

CONGRATULATIONS TO CHAPIN SWIMMING FOR A JOB WELL DONE !!!

The inaugural class of the Chapin Athletic Hall of Fame was honored at half time of Friday night’s football game against Columbia High. The induction banquet was held Saturday, August 23rd, 2014 at the Chapin Town Hall. Inductees include Cecil Woolbright (represented by son, Marty Woolbright), W.F. Sullivan, Marty Woolbright, Sonny Shealy, Eddie Muldrow, Patricia Caldwell, Jeffrey Tucker, Dewayne Wise, Jimmie Ruff and I.M. Hipp.

Eagle Swimmers Dominate Richland NE 268.5 to 55.5

Chapin Swimming kicked off the 2014 season on August 17 at the Quail Valley pool. Placing first in 21 of 22 events, the Eagles dominated Richland NE with a 268.5 to 55.5 victory. Newly named Captains: Catherine Bendziewicz, Emily Gleaton, Will Tenbrunsel, and Warren Coppage led the team with first place finishes in all their events.

Catherine Bendziewicz , a returning Junior, won the 200 IM and 100 Fly with automatic state qualifying times. Senior Emily Gleaton won the 50 Free and 100 Breast. Senior Will Tenbrunsel won the 100 Free and 100 Back and Warren Coppage, a returning Junior, won the 100 Fly and 100 IM

Denise Shealy placed first in the 200 and 400 Free, with an automatic qualifying time in the 400. Other big winners were Alex Dixon in the 50 Free, Cindy Spence in the 100 Free, Chris Gleaton in the 200 Free, Grant Tomlin in the 400 Free, and Rachel Rutkowski in the 100 Back.

Head Spirit Leader and Senior Westley Moore showed the “CLAWS” how to take care of business. Some Fear the Water….but all FEAR THE CLAW!!
